'Kill Your Darlings'
Public Premiere: Friday, Jan. 18, 3:30 PM at The Eccles
Lowdown: Daniel Radcliffe stars in yet another Allen Ginsberg film after "Howl" (Sundance 2010) and "On the Road" (Cannes 2012). "Darlings" explores the strange murder of David Kammerer (Michael C. Hall) and how it forever changed the lives of Ginsberg's peers Jack Keroac (Jack Huston) and William Burroughs (Ben Foster) as well as classmate Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan). Director John Krokidas is said to give a no holds barred look at the genesis of the Beat generation and the gay scene within it. This is Daniel Radcliffe in "Equus" mode and not for the kiddies. The big question: Is it too edgy for a major indie distributor?
