"Before Sunrise" opened the 1995 Sundance Film Festival, while "Before Sunset" was nominated for a screenplay Oscar in 2005. Nine years have passed since Celine and Jesse met in Paris and nearly 20 years have passed since they shared a train to Vienna. While we know the action takes place in Greece, everything else is a mystery and we wouldn't have it any other way. How has the added time shaped Celine and Jesse and their perspectives on romance, idealism and philosophy? Few fictional pairings have generated an audience investment that's more real.
