More than Medicine: Our favorite quirky medical shows

Scrubs

When the scene depicted in this photo is among the more sedate moments to ever happen at Sacred Heart, you know you're dealing with a bizarre hospital. After all, so much of "Scrubs" was seen through the eyes of daydreaming doc John Dorian (Zach Braff), and the rest of the place came to match his mindset after a while. So at various points we were treated to dance battles between the doctors and surgeons, gospel choirs, pimp struts, an a cappella band that only sang cartoon theme songs, a vengeful Janitor with no name, a security guard with a giant afro and a hook for a hand, and a doctor driven insane by the constant jokes about his being named Hooch. Among other things.

late to the party but not surprised to discover that of all these shows, there are only 3 that I have not watched (in most cases every episode of) Nurse Jackie, Kingdom Whatever, and Nip/Tuck.
Now to show my gluttony for hospital shows I'll ad the rest.
    Nightingales
Dr Kildare (reruns at a young age)
    Medical Center
    Emergency (does that count)
Presidio Med and MDs (they shared a city *and a time slot*)
That Miami Trauma show last year where Andre Braugher broke down and left in his undies.
Nurses - I started by got bored.
    I have watched Mercy.
    Watched some Hawthorne.
That one with the british psychiatrist
    3 pounds
I did not watch University Medical (it might have been overload)
STAT (Alison LaPlaca and Dennis Boutsikaris. It was what made me start watching 30 something just as they were cancelling it)
    and Royal Pains.
I also saw at least one ep of Going to Extremes. I prefer Off The Map.
Medicine Women in the old west don't interest me and neither does Marcus Welby.
I did watch Julia. (her boss was Auschlander's oncologist). I did not watched Saved or Rescued or whatever it was called, not Strong Medicine. I was starting to and the DVR died.
I endure Private Practice despite its lack of hospital.
    No Ben Casey either.
I'm sure something (other than E/R) is missing...
    Trapper John, Aftermash. Watched them.
