Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and SHIELD.

Pretty impressive for some silly comic book characters, wouldn't you say? I think the success of the films proves the genius of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the creators of most of these characters.

Larry Aplleton Those were not superhero movies. They were based on a comic book series but the publisher was Aircel, not Marvel.
