Obama slow jams the news
What makes it great: As long as Jimmy Fallon lives, he'll never make another decision as smart as the choice to go with The Roots as his house band. Basically two-thirds of the moments in this list are as much related to The Roots as to Jimmy Fallon. And it's possible that the regular slow-jamming of the news may be the greatest Roots-based achievement of the Fallon tenure, a combination of musicality and badassery so tremendous that it required presidential participation, so tremendous that it made Mitt Romney look cool, so tremendous that it made Americans pay attention to the news (or at least a few headlines). Hopefully slow-jamming the news will continue on "The Tonight Show," because there's no limit to the number of people we'd like to see do headlines with The Roots.
