Kid Cudi, "Man on the Moon: The End of the Day" (Dream On/G.O.O.D./Universal Motown)
Rapper of the moment's latest is off to a soaring start with hit singsongy, stoner anthem "Day 'N' Nite." This Kanye West protégé has already shown an appealing knack for blending different genres and beats into a hypnotic blend. One of the best new talents of the year.

But I've been a fan of theirs for awhile, and their latest CD is pretty solid. "Undisclosed Desires" is my favorite track from the album, but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the ambitious three movement song "Exogenesis". For a band on the verge of attaining mainstream US popularity, they're at least doing it on their own terms. Curious as to what you think, Melinda.
