1. 'Cry Me a River' (2002)
About as fine a kiss-off song as they come, especially since we all know it’s about Britney Spears. Timberlake sings as if there’s ice running through his veins he’s so over this relationship. It’s a good thing his performance is so understated because producer Timbaland has thrown everything else on the synthesized track, including a Gregorian-type chant and a Greek chorus. The tune justifiably snagged Timberland a Grammy for best male pop vocal performance.
