Value as an investor: 9
Value to Shark Tank, the show: invaluable
Bite: 10, but only when it's deserved
Mark Cuban changed everything about "Shark Tank." Besides getting the show's producers and ABC to retroactively stop taking equity in every business, he's willing to call both the sharks and the entrepreneurs on their b.s. And it usually produces amazing television. The other sharks seem frequently frustrated with him for swooping in and stealing deals, but who wouldn't want to partner with Mark Cuban? He's rich, smart, and well-connected. If there's a weakness, it's that he's invested in a lot, and he's Mark Cuban, so he might not be the most accessible investor on the panel. But he's also the most successful, and that includes in his role as a shark.
