Magnolia Electric Co., "Josephine" (Secretly Canadian)
The perfect way to experience Midwestern band Magnolia Electric Co. is live, but here's the next best thing to being there. "Josephine" is a concept album of sorts about the band's touring bassist Evan Farrell, who died in a fire. Band leader Jason Molina says as much as the album is a tribute to Farrell, it is about dislocation and isolation.
