I saw him on that last tour of intimate shows and the stuff he was workshopping was the worst part of the show. Think industrial sounds mixed with free jazz... not good. His older material sounded glorious though.
katie, a princess I agree with you that his States project and Seven Swans is the material I like the best, but there's something to be said for the electronica project work. I think where his "intimate" shows fell apart is at material he hadn't finished and didn't have a full arrangement backing. We shall soon see!

August 18, 2010 at 2:52AM EST Reply to CommentI am SO freakin' stoked to see Arcade Fire in Vancouver in September. So far the best show I've seen this year (or any year, actually...) has been Muse but I can't wait to see and hear The Suburbs played live, what an astoundingly brilliant album.
