These pair of acts have already collaborated with each other on stage and in the studio (take a gander at Janelle Monae's "Make the Bus" for example) so it only makes sense they hit the road together.
Kevin Barnes and the rest of his bonkers band family have a tendency to play dress-up, feature mimes and skits and to climb all over the rafters during their shows. Monae (and her alter-ego Cindi Mayweather) does essentially the same, only with more emphasis on dancing. The result should look something like a circus.
Monae is still promoting May's "The ArchAndroid," and of Montreal are ramping up for "False Priest," due Sept. 14.
