Why: First off: how can you look at that jawline and not cast Brolin as Batman/Bruce Wayne? But seriously, if Warner Bros. is indeed going older this time around it's hard to imagine a more perfect choice than the 45-year-old Oscar nominee, who possesses both the hard-boiled coarseness and debonair charm necessary for the part. The actor suffered an unfortunate false start in the superhero genre with the studio's disastrous 2010 comic-book adaptation "Jonah Hex," but the utter failure of that film was far from being his fault - and if Warner Bros. is indeed eyeing him for the role (he's been reported as the "frontrunner"), they clearly understand that as well as the rest of us do.
