Why it was great: Bridges' squealy, unusual laugh has become a staple sound "drop" in the Stern universe, and the interview itself was a true gem. One of the great virtues of a Stern sit-down is that he approaches each one as a career retrospective, and in Bridges' case he elicited some fascinating behind-the-scenes details about long-ago projects including the 1976 "King Kong" remake (Jessica Lange was almost crushed by a hydraulic gorilla hand), "Iron Man" (Bridges described literally making the script up as they went along), and Michael Cimino's notorious 1978 western "Heaven's Gate," which the actor forcefully defended when Robin suggested it was a terrible film. Other highlights: his charming banter with confirmed "Dudist" staff member Richard Christy and the moment Howard confronted him with a laundry list of famous film roles he supposedly turned down - a fascinating trivia session for any dyed-in-the-wool movie geek.
