'Chuck,' 'Mad Men,' 'Sons of Anarchy,' 'Dollhouse' plus at least four new comedies made the cut
No. 15: 'The Office'
Yeah, we know. "The Office" has had some baaaaad episodes this year. In fact, I'd say "Mafia" may be the worst episode the show has ever done. But the year has also had standout episodes galore, including the Super Bowl episode "Stress Relief" and the Jim-and-Pam wedding double-bill "Niagara." The season also included "The Lover," which was equal parts squirmy and hilarious, "Company Picnic," featuring Buffalo Jokes, "Slumdunder Mifflinaire" and a surprise pregnancy, and "Casual Friday," which started with Kevin's Chili, the best cold-open in the show's history. Really, though, the litmus test for the year was the Michael Scott Paper Company arc. The arc mostly worked for me, especially its conclusion, which showed the mixture of comedy and real human emotion that represent "The Office" at the top of its game.
