Low: Father Gabriel's an idiot.
Okay, so he spent most of the apocalypse until now locked inside his church, enjoying all the cans from the food drive and seeing very little of all the monsters — both living and dead — wandering around in the world outside it. That's fine. But between his near-death in his first appearance, the mayhem in the food bank basement and what he saw of the Termites — including their returning Bob sans leg — he got a pretty good idea in short order of just how awful and scary both the people and the zombies can be. So why exactly was he so eager to escape the church, and in the process endanger Michonne, Carl and Judith by leading another zombie herd back there? That sequence felt like an attempt at narrative symmetry — Gabriel is placed in the same position he put his congregants in at the start of the apocalypse, only the people inside the church this time are nicer than he was — without enough character motivation behind it.
