Here are some of the best and worst moments from the 2014 run of 'Mad Men'
High: Don and Sally have a father/daughter talk
Episode: “A Day’s Work”
Why it was a high: Don Draper’s relationship with daughter Sally hit its nadir last season after she walked in on him having sex with the upstairs neighbor. However, the final scene of Season 6 hinted that father and daughter could have a rapprochement. For better or worse, Don has decided that will come in the form of treating Sally like an adult, even when she’s very clearly capable of still acting like a spoiled kid. They make a pitstop in a diner as he drives her back to school after she came into Manhattan to attend a friend’s mother’s funeral, but really to shop. He confesses that he really messed up at work and is on leave—she knows before Megan does—and she admits she ditched the funeral. There’s manipulation going on on both sides, but we see Don and Sally attempting to be honest with each other and just how much she is like him. When Sally quickly declares “I love you” as she hops out of the car, not even giving Don time to say it back, the look of love, surprise, and, above all, gratitude on Don’s face is a thing of beauty.
