Hugh Jackman plays some poncey roles when he sings and dances on Broadway - is that better or worse than gossip girl? As I recall, he made a pretty good Wolverine.
Krasinksi and Vogel are out. Love Krasinski and I have nothing against Vogel, but there's not enough CGI in the world to bulk Krasinski up to appropriate levels and Vogel is the same height as me...and I'm 5' 7".
I think Crawford, Porter and Hedlund are all really solid choices, sans having seen them act much. Still, I think that this role, more than any other in the Marvel universe (except maybe Thor) is about the actor's physical characteristics. I'd still like to see them give Charlie Hunnam a nod. And it's too bad Simon Baker's not younger.

February 25, 2010 at 11:54AM EST Reply to CommentPorter or Fleuger are the best visual fits from those shown. I am surprised that Channing Tatum is not among those listed. Wasn't Chris Hemsworth (George Kirk in JJTrek) floated before too?

February 25, 2010 at 1:06PM EST Reply to CommentI have to say "Brief Interviews With Hideous Men" game me an idea that Krasinski can act, or at least not smirk through a role. Once upon a time George Clooney was a tv actor who could only make it through a scene with a smile and a downward head turn. Now hes an Oscar nominee and easily envisioned in almsot any role. Why cant Krasinski do the same?
March 4, 2010 at 6:53AM EST Reply to CommentWhat Captain America def. is not, is meterosexual. So GossipGirl boys is a no. Scott Porter would be my choice just by looks, he's got the jaw for it. I think Cap should be in his 30's and Scott would look right for a 1940's soldier as well.
