Known For: Lovable doofus Andy Dwyer on "Parks and Recreation," pickin' machine Scott Hatteberg in "Moneyball," a Tony Robbins-loving Navy SEAL in "Zero Dark Thirty."
In His Favor: His supporting work in a pair of Best Picture nominees, and his gift for improvisation, has gotten Pratt enough attention from the movie business that Marvel just signed him as the lead in "Guardians of the Galaxy." Is chameleon enough that he could play both the cocky action hero side of the character and also deliver wry punchlines — and, based on his track record on "Parks" and in "ZDT," odds are he'll improvise something funnier than what the screenwriters give him.
Against Him: Could he do both a Solo movie and "Guardians"? Would Disney want a bigger name for this, or would they trust the "Star Wars" brand name to make the actor a star?
