Han Solo casting ideas for the announced 'Star Wars' spin-off

Penn Badgley

Penn Badgley

Known For: Good-hearted aspiring writer Dan Humphrey on "Gossip Girl"
In His Favor: Like Harrison Ford, Badgley falls in the more "accessible" vein of Hollywood sex symbols, and he's got significant name appeal.
Against Him: Unfortunately, Badgley's "name appeal" may not be enough at this point, as his star has been somewhat on the decline since "Gossip Girl"'s water-cooler peak in Season 2. As an actor, I'm not sure he's capable of adequately evoking the hard-nosed, lovably sarcastic edge that made Ford so perfect for the character in the original trilogy.

Levitt was like the only name on this list that didn't make me groan.

Shari As far as Andrew Garfield being too associated with an iconic character as Spider-Man and not being able to be 2 iconic characters in such a short time, couldn't the same have been said for Harrison Ford being both Han and Indiana Jones in the 70's and 80's? He was amazing because I never saw Indy as Han or vice versa.

ceggertsen The difference is that Ford was the first actor to play both of those roles. They weren't previously-established characters but original creations at the time he signed on to play them.

Lee A no brainer would be Taylor Kitsch. He has the Hans Solo look and can inject humor to the character that Ford did so well. Battleship was a good example of his ability to fit with syfi.

I think Luke Grimes, who played Jamie (love interest to Kim) in Taken 2 would be an excellent choice. He's good looking, has a nice lop-sided smile, and has swagger.

I think as of today...the casting for Hans Solo is obvious....CHANNING TATUM.....He is a Sexy Funny Hunk who is ready for a breakout action-character...with Swagger & Charisma to more than fill the role & entertain everyone !!!!!..besides than all the nerds have a reason to bring their hot girlfriends with them to the show.!!!!!!

Ivan I could picture Pine in another space action movie. Especially as someone who gets into a lot of trouble. But how young they want Han, not sure. Then there is Levitt. I didn't like him at first, but Looper really showed him as someone that can change who he is on screen.

    Ugh no no NO

First off Zac Efron?! If he going to be Han I not going to see it period. I think Levitt would be the best guy for the job. For Luke I thinking Josh Hutcherson just give him the hear he had on in the Hunger Games and BAM! Luke Leia I have no clue. So PLEASE DISNEY D-O N-O-T CHOSE EFRON!!! Please please

..Dylan O'Brien should play this part he would be perfect. he can do comedy and drama and is a newer face so there wouldn't be any overshadowing of any other characters he's played

OMG NO. Please, Please, Please, do not try to recast the characters of Luke, Leia or Han Solo. This is the worst idea imaginable. Please start fresh and introduce new characters. NO REBOOTS PLEASE!!!!

Why would a young actor be chosen to play a part that the original is the correct age to play? These new films take place AFTER Return.

And most of these are oriole, horrible ideas no one would ever consider unless drunk and suffering hypoxia.
