2012 Grammy nominations Surprises & Snubs: Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Bon Iver
What's up with the Skrillex nominations? How did Drake make the list?
SNUB: Kanye West
Check out a complete list of Grammy nominees here.
To lead the Grammy Award nominations with seven nods is no snub, but the biggest shock is that his "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" didn't earn an Album of the Year. As a matter of fact, he showed up in only one major general category (Song of the Year, "All of the Lights"), with five other nominations relegated to rap categories (and one to packaging). The Academy obviously thought West the belle of the ball, but overlooked this critically and commercially admired album in favor of singles artists like Rihanna and Bruno Mars.-KH

Crow3711 Wow, screwed that up. Impossible to admit BDTF is NOT the best album of the year. Because, unfortunately, it really really is.

Gaga got lucky - she only got her nominations because the Grammys know they MUST nominate the "most" popular artist(s) for the big prizes to get good ratings (including giving Gaga herself a reason to show up at the event and probably perform). Kanye, Taylor, and hell even Robyn are more deserving of Album of the Year than Lady G and Rihanna.
