Drake, "Nothing Was the Same"
Previous number of nominations for Album of the Year: 0
One of Drake's greatest assets is being a relatable, sensitive guy and he further refines that persona on "Nothing Was the Same." Drake raps and sings his heart out on the album's sixteen tracks, which range from the romantic hit "Hold On, We're Going Home" to the toughly confident "Worst Behavior." Over his last three albums, the 27-year-old has grown up and it's been a fascinating journey to witness.
Why a nomination is likely/unlikely: If the nominations only include one hip-hop album -- as they have in years past -- it will likely be "Nothing Was the Same." Plus, Drake seems poised to make the leap to the big category, after winning Best Rap Album for "Take Care" at this year's Grammy Awards.
