Best: Harvey 'The Punisher' Weinstein
In her acceptance speech for Best Original Song ("Masterpiece" from "W.E."), Madonna just so happened to mention Weinstein Co. bigwig Harvey Weinstein's real-life nickname "The Punisher" - a reference that succeeded in taking on a life of its own throughout the rest of the evening, with various others including Best Actress winner Meryl Streep invoking it during their acceptance speeches. Notorious for playing hardball during awards season (and in general) beginning with his legendary tenure at Miramax, the nickname for the ultra-aggressive CEO is well-earned - and with multiple wins for Weinstein Co. movies including "The Artist", "The Iron Lady", "My Week with Marilyn", and "W.E.", it was certainly in evidence this evening.
