From 'The Avengers' to 'E.T.' - 20 Reasons to own a Blu-ray player in Fall 2012

For a format that's supposedly on the way out, Blu-ray's looking pretty good

"Lawrence Of Arabia"

When this was restored in 1989, it was as cutting edge as restorations could be at the time.  We've come a long way since then, though, and this represents the latest attempt at not only cleaning up but preserving the movie that I consider the best movie ever made.  I've got a personal rule that I don't watch this one at home, and that every time I go see it in the theater, I take someone who hasn't seen the film before.  Having a beautifully restored high-definition version of it may actually get me to start watching it at home on a regular basis, since my screens just keep getting bigger.
