Why it was shocking: Wait… was it shocking? Hudgens always seemed like she was running her own countdown clock to the moment she turned 18, and even in the 'High School Musical' movies that introduced her to young audiences, she seemed like she knew she was holding back all the impulses that she really wanted to indulge and explore on film. When I interviewed her on the set of 'Sucker Punch,' she was giddy at the various ways she was starting to demolish the image she'd built during the Disney years, and it seems like 'Spring Breakers' is something she's been building to for a long while now, the fulfillment of a promise she's been making since day one.
