Let the ladies shine
With Kristen Wiig's departure, it's time for Vanessa Bayer, Nasim Pedrad, and Kate McKinnon to show what they can do. All three have strong, unique comedic voices, but those voices were often muted as the writing staff put Wiig center stage in the majority of sketches in recent years. "SNL" is strongest when it has a complimentary cast of female performers that work in concert with one another. Wiig's exit provides an opportunity to let these three come to the front as a united whole to help the show once again reinvent itself.
