Football stadium songs, the New Class: Lil Wayne, M.I.A., Green Day
Listen to tracks from Hinder, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and T.I., each of which could and should replace 'Who Let the Dogs Out' as new NFL season kicks off
The New Class of Stadium Anthems
NFL fans may -- and will -- have to contend with the grim fact that "Cotteneyed Joe" is still being boomed in stadiums across America, as the regular season kicks off this week.
But there are, of course, lasting and great stadium anthems to be had. Ozzy's "Crazy Train" will still encourage handclapping in unison. House of Pain's "Jump Around" elicits its title action and as fans are happy to be greeted with "Welcome to the Jungle."
"I Feel Good," "Bawitdaba" and "We Will Rock You" may never disappear, while we can only hope tracks like "Who Let the Dogs Out" and "Mambo No. 5" will.
In the next slides, we suggest 10 recently released songs that could serve well on the football field and in the stands. Who knows, maybe one day we'll have a good replacement for that Gary Glitter riff (bah-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-HEY!).
What tracks do you think should qualify? What are we missing?
