The Moment: DMX launches an obscenity-laced tirade against life coach Iyanla Vanzant
For all the warm and fuzzy self-help clogging up televisions, Vanzant's explosive failure with rapper DMX was something altogether different. For every can-do aphorism Vanzant lobbed at the fallen star, he doggedly swatted them away. When she tried to broker a peace between DMX and his adult son Xavier, we could almost feel his coiled rage and hurt -- and we all felt a shiver of fear when he began screaming. Not everyone (or, perhaps, anyone) can be helped in a tidy TV show episode, and this season premiere made that abundantly clear.
