Fall TV Preview: 10 Worst New Shows of 2011

From 'Ringer' to 'Revenge' to 'Person of Interest,' what other new shows made the cut?

No. 10 Worst - 'Person of Interest'

"Person of Interest" (CBS)
Airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. [Premieres September 22.]

When you hear that Jonathan Nolan and J.J. Abrams are combining on a CBS crime-fighting procedural, you hope that the result will feel more like an Abrams/Nolan collaboration and less like a CBS crime-fighting procedural. Unfortunately, the "Person of Interest" pilot is maddeningly generic and while Michael Emerson does a little to elevate his side of this two-hander, he's matched with a sleepwalking Jim Caviezel, whose monotone and affectless stare kill any thought of intrigue. As by-the-numbers as the pilot feels, there's even less by way of ongoing intrigue to bring viewers back. Is "Person of Interest" notably worse than CBS' "Unforgettable"? No. But it's infinitely more disappointing.

You know, these prejudges that insult a show before it's really come out, must be really miserable people. I am not really into police or law shows, but I understand the appeal. However, I am big on supernatural shows and they are coming out with some great ones! Like someone else said, watch a few before you judge. Some of my favorite shows start off pretty dead!!!

Maritsa I really enjoyed Grimm and will continue to watch as long as it's on. Reminds me a bit of X-files meets Buffy.

Revenge is one of the best new shows, so this list can suck it!

I'd just like to say that I am up to date with both Grimm and Revenge and I LOVE them both.. Revenge because I love me some elite, pretty people DRAMMAAAA! Now given, I also love Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars.. BUT this show has a nice twist to it. And Grimm because I've watched my fair share of scary movies and shows and there have been a few times where I have jumped, and that in itself makes it good for me! So if these opinions are based on the pilots ALONE, don't give these 2 shows up quite yet.. because I think they are quite good. (Also another show to check out, that gladly isn't on this list is Once Upon a Time. Another new show to 2011. Love it :)

If last man is so bad, why did nbc and cbs both come out with similar shows, one of them being, "I hate my teenage daughteri"?

Dan, Person of Interest is terrific, especially Mr. Reese. Tonight WITNESS was very exciting. I think you are too overwhelmed with Breaking Bad, (so am I) But this show should be recognized. Never in the list you have it in. Whitney, is terrible, this cross dressing show?? Is ABC on Meth? Revenge so so. Put this on a good list.
