No. 10 Best - NBC's 'Up All Night'
"Up All Night" (NBC)
Airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
If you read my review of "Up All Night," you already know most of my caveats. The part of "Up All Night" that's Will Arnett, Christina Applegate and the baby? I fully recommend that. It's well-acted, naturalistically directed and the comedic beats all ring true, even though I don't have kids. It's the other half of the show, the half in which Maya Rudolph used to be a high level publicist but is now a successful talk show host? Yeah, that needs a little work, doesn't it? I thought it was funnier originally and that the new footage was rushed, stale and unamusing. But because it was rushed and because it was designed to be slotted into the original pilot, I'm inclined to be generous and concentrate on the what I enjoyed, particularly the performances by the leads.
