Justin Timberlake and Louis C.K. shine as 'New Girl' is snubbed
Winner and Loser: Sundance for 'Top of the Lake' and 'Rectify'
Sundance Channel broke into original scripted programming in a big way this year with the miniseries "Top of the Lake" and the original drama "Rectify." One of those two had a great Emmy Nomination Morning, while the other is sitting at home all sad. "Top of the Lake" earned eight nominations including nods for leading lady Elisabeth Moss, the menacing Peter Mullan, as well as for writing, directing and Outstanding Movie or Miniseries. Therein lies the advantage of gunning for nominations in a less stacked category, rather than fighting in the Drama category, where Ray McKinnon's "Rectify" failed to earn even a single nod for its spiritual and pastoral meditation on fate, forgiveness and redemption.
