Britton hasn’t suffered too many losses, but they have been brutal ones. She lost twice for her work as Tami Taylor on "Friday Night Lights" -- a character that practically oozes Southern magnetism. Then, finding a promising vehicle in the miniseries "American Horror Story," she scored a nomination in its first go-round but lost to Sarah Palin (the Julianne Moore version). But now Mrs. Coach is on her third project, the promising ABC series "Nashville," in which she plays an aging country star with the same grace she brought to "Lights." Third time’s hopefully the charm for Britton’s, well, charm.
