Chi McBride, "Pushing Daisies"

Nomination Status: It's not gonna happen. But we can hope.

Bottom Line: On ABC's dearly departed "Pushing Daisies," Chi McBride may just be playing the Chi McBride part (just as he'll be playing in the FOX midseason action-drama "Human Target"), but Bryan Fuller gave him the best Chi McBride part ever written and watching the "Boston Public" and "Killer Instinct" star spit out Fuller and company's verbose, literate, sparkling dialogue was always a pleasure. McBride, alas, didn't even make the Top 10 in this category last year, when "Pushing Daisies" was very much on the Emmy radar. That means he doesn't stand a chance this year. Isn't that a pity?
