Nomination Status: Emmy voters love facile Hollywood satire, but how much do they love it?
In Its Favor: You have no idea how much it hurts me to have "Episodes" ahead of "Enlightened" and a few other dark horses in this gallery, but the David Crane/Jeffrey Klarik alleged comedy has things going for it. In its first year of Emmy eligibility, "Episodes" earned a trio of nods, including recognition for writing and for leading man Matt LeBlanc. It also has a pair of series nominations from Golden Globe voters, who are apparently even bigger fans of facile Hollywood satire than Emmy voters. I can just see how, in a year with some attrition, "Episodes" could slip into the field.
Working Against It: Ultimately, what "Episodes" has going against it for the purposes of this slideshow is my wild dislike for the show and my desperate hopes that it won't sully this category. That and the failure to get a series Emmy nomination the first time around, much less a Screen Actors Guild Award ensemble nomination either season.
