Lauren Graham of 'Parenthood'
Lauren Graham, "Parenthood"
Nomination Status: Maybe all of those years of snubbing, it was really just a "Lead Actress" thing?
In Her Favor: After spending seemingly the last decade being snubbed in the Lead Actress category for "Gilmore Girls" and then "Parenthood," Lauren Graham dropped to Supporting Actress this year. It was another year of emotionally high stakes for Sarah Braverman and while she may have had a better chance in this category last year with all of Sarah's drama, I'm always happy to advocate on Lauren Graham's behalf when it comes to Emmys. Give her a nomination already. For something. Somewhere. Please.
Working Against Her: The "Parenthood" women are all in this category and one could easily make an argument that Mae Whitman, Monica Potter and, in this season in particular, Erika Christensen are all equally worthy of nominations and thus equally likely to split votes amongst "Parenthood" fans and thus equally unlikely to earn those nominations. That's a pity. They're all very good.
