Emmy Nomination Preview 2012 - Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy

Two 'Modern Family' frontrunners return, but will older actresses crash the field?

Anna Chlumsky of 'Veep'

Anna Chlumsky, "Veep"

Nomination Status: If Emmy voters like "Veep," Chlumsky will be in the conversation.

In Her Favor: "Veep" star Julia Louise-Dreyfus is a strong candidate for a nomination and Chlumsky stands toe-to-toe with Louise-Dreyfus, spitting out some of the most deliciously foul dialogue imaginable. An Emmy nod would also cap a fine career evolution from child star to well-adjusted, brassy grown-up actress. Vada Sultenfuss deserves this, y'all.

Working Against Her: If "Veep" is considered too much Julia Louise-Dreyfus' one-woman show, all other talents could get pushed aside in her wake.
