June 14, 2012 at 6:51AM EST Reply to CommentNick Offerman's lack of a nomination is starting to become a "The Wire" like blight on the Emmys. Oh & what I'd give for Pudi or Glover to get a nomination...
They deserve it, but awards shows rarely reward the fan's choice.

June 14, 2012 at 8:20AM EST Reply to CommentNick Offerman really, truly deserves a nomination. It will be a crime if they fail to take notice of the brilliant supporting cast to the wonderful Amy Poehler of Parks and Recreation!!
Also great this season was surprisingly Adam Scott, who got to play off Amy's brilliance in a lot of episodes. Give him one too!
After all it is the best comedy on television at the moment...
dan Harrison - Adam Scott'll be in my Lead Actor gallery, since that's where he submitted this year. I don't think he'll get a nomination there, but it would be nice...

Harrison Oh well that's good. I suppose Rob Lowe will be doing the same thing - like last year. He probably has a better chance at nomination here than in leading.

June 14, 2012 at 8:25AM EST Reply to CommentI'm holding out hope for Danny Pudi...I really hope this is his year.
My favourite thing about this list is the absence of Big Bang Theory actors. Thank you.

June 14, 2012 at 11:57AM EST Reply to CommentPersonally, I do not care about the Emmy's. If you can write "voters don't know that "________________" exists" about the Emmy's, or ANY awards show, and you are not being completely facetious, then we should not be taking said award show seriously.
It IS annoying that the best actors & shows (and yes, I know that is subjective) seem generally not to be the ones who win. Modern Family went from, in my mind, pretty good to barely watchable. If we had anything better to do during that time we would not watch it, yet it's a habit. Ty Burrell is funny, I'll grant him that. Ed O'Neil is great. They sure as hell do not deserve the Emmy over Nick Offerman, it's a shame that Jason Gunn will almost certainly get virtually no consideration, people who don't know who Rob McElhenney is should not be voting for his or his show's inclusion in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," and it seems like Community is destined to be overlooked. Really, any show that so roundly snubbed The Wire (again, considered by more than a few to be arguably the best show on TV, ever), and ignores some of the great shows and actors that the Emmy's has, is a joke and this seems like a virtual popularity contest then actually awarding people for their great work.
So really, why should we care or give any credence to the Emmy's? I'm happy for those who win, yet to me these shows mean approximately nothing.

June 14, 2012 at 1:07PM EST Reply to CommentAw, it always makes me happy when a Psych guy makes it to the picture on the "other" tab. It may not be an Emmy but it's something. Plus that is a good picture of Gus even without context.

June 14, 2012 at 2:08PM EST Reply to CommentI've found modern family has slowly become a pretty bad show. I guess it isn't the fault of the actors, but they really don't deserve much when faced with shows like Community and Parks which both are overflowing with outstanding performances.

Ken Raining Except for the one Jim Rash deserves this year.

June 14, 2012 at 5:41PM EST Reply to CommentI'm so incredibly sick of seeing the same people nominated year after year after year. The Emmy's would be 100% more interesting if people couldn't be nominated back-to-back, forcing them to switch it up. Yes, you could argue that's unfair to those who put in the work every year, but you know what? Lots of people put in the work every year. If Modern Family takes up four slots in the Supporting Actor category again this year, I might shit a brick. Danny Pudi, Donald Glover and Jim Rash deserve those nominations--and if not all of them, at least one. AT LEAST. I can't think of any actor or actress who is more Emmy worthy than Danny Pudi at this point. There just isn't one.

June 14, 2012 at 7:40PM EST Reply to CommentMax Greenfield was (rightfully) nominated for a Critics' Choice. Or, given how I don't think I've ever seen a single mention of that awards show 'round these parts, is HitFix pretending that it doesn't exist?
INM - I have no idea what you're referring to.

June 14, 2012 at 7:57PM EST Reply to CommentI hope Ty wins again this year and Colfer gets the boot in favor of Offerman
Nick Not Offerman's best year, his previous work in the past season was better. One of Community's actors deserves a spot [despite all of them being equally eligible] Modern Family is too much of an Emmy favorite to allow it, Colfer does not deserve to be in this category his acting is far too superior for a category based on who is the bigger "clown". He needs to be put in a category which serves his acting or dismiss Glee in favor of better written dramatic roles.
