Mariska Hargitay of 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'
Mariska Hargitay, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit"
Nomination Status: Could an eight-year nomination streak end? I'm saying "Yes," even if I don't believe it.
In Her Favor: As I just said: Hargitay has been nominated for Emmys eight consecutive years for "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," winning in 2006. She's beloved and this season, Olivia Benson even got a love interest. Surely that's Emmy-worthy, right?
Working Against Her: Ratings for "SVU" keep falling and the show stirs up less and less buzz for its steady string of top notch guest stars. Eventually, Emmy voters will just be distracted and look elsewhere. Won't they? What? You're saying it's a guarantee that Hargitay gets nominated, while only one between Pare and McGovern makes the field? You're probably correct.
