Katey Sagal of 'Sons of Anarchy'
Katey Sagal, "Sons of Anarchy"
Nomination Status: Keeps being snubbed.
In Her Favor: Three years ago, Katey Sagal gave the best performance by an actress on any TV drama. Two seasons ago she gave a solid Top 6-worthy performance. And it's not like Sagal suddenly became bad in the most recent season of "Sons of Anarchy." She's very good and even if a nomination this year would be way too late, it wouldn't be undeserved.
Working Against Her: Coming off a year critics agreed Sagal was an egregious snub and then coming off a Golden Globe win, last year was probably Sagal's best shot at an Emmy nomination and it didn't happen. Although Gemma definitely engaged in some quality Lady MacBeth horseplay last season, it didn't feel like her husband gave her anything as meaty as Season 3's arc with Hal Holbrook or basically the totality of Season 2.
