Emmy Nomination Preview 2012 - Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy
Lena Dunham, Zooey Deschanel, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and more charge a stacked category
Amanda Peet of 'Bent'
Amanda Peet, "Bent"
Nomination Status: Six-episode shows rarely earn Emmy nominations.
In Her Favor: A thoroughly charming romantic-comedy lead performance. If you think it's easy, check out how unsuccessfully Peet did romantic comedy in "Studio 60." Peet and David Walton had real chemistry and made the rare will-they/won't-they pair that I actually was happy to see get together. Also, Peet's kinda a movie semi-star, or at least NBC thought it had landed a big fish when they cast in in "Bent."
Working Against Her: NBC forgot that it had landed a big fish and burnt-off "Bent" in a hasty spring rush and then the network put its collective fingers in its collective ears to ignore the fact that what few viewers the show had actually really liked it.
