Lea Michele of 'Glee'
Lea Michele, "Glee"
Nomination Status: Former nominee had some great moments down the stretch.
In Her Favor: I've never been a Lea Michele supporter. I was relieved when she wasn't nominated for an Emmy last year and when she didn't make the Golden Globes field this year. But as bad as I think "Glee" is 95 percent of the time, Michele came on really strong at the end of last season. The botched NYADA audition, the prom, Nationals and, particularly, the finale were all designed to convince any doubters that given the right material, Michele and Rachel Berry could be as good as everybody has always said they were. And sometimes, that point was made convincingly.
Working Against Her: The decline in awards-based "Glee" buzz will continue to hinder Michele. And it's not like she'd make my Top 6, but I'm just saying that a nomination for Michele this year would much less of an embarrassment than it might have been last year. Of course, for her to be nominated, somebody above her would have to be snubbed and that would be an embarrassment, so maybe I'm not saying anything at all.
