Emmy Nomination Preview 2012 - Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama
With Coach Taylor gone, will Bryan Cranston return to take his fourth Emmy?
Jon Hamm of 'Mad Men'
Jon Hamm, "Mad Men"
Nomination Status: Fifth straight nomination is a lock.
In His Favor: While Hamm didn't have a "Suitcase"-style showcase episode this year, it was another spectacular season for the four-time nominee. You can just go through the season checking off memorable episodes for Hamm, including end-of-season showdowns with Christina Hendricks, Elisabeth Moss and Jared Harris. In the early years, Hamm and Don Draper did a lot of their best work solo, in those epic Draper-esque pitches and whatnot. More and more, though, Hamm has become a team player, making everybody better around him.
Working Against Him: Nothing is going against Hamm for his nomination, but it's possible that last year represented his best chance to win and it slipped through the cracks.
