Charlie Hunnam of 'Sons of Anarchy'
Charlie Hunnam, "Sons of Anarchy"
Nomination Status: Strong work unlikely to be noticed.
In His Favor: Inconsistent American accent aside, Charlie Hunnam's performance on "Sons of Anarchy" gets stronger with each passing season. Hunnam's movie profile may not be growing, but the overall growth in "Sons of Anarchy" ratings continues to enhance the chances that one of these days somebody will have an Emmy breakthrough.
Working Against Him: It's unlikely to be Hunnam who will have that breakthrough. Instead, we continue to believe that one of these days, Emmy voters may recognize Katey Sagal. Even that seems like a longshot, so Hunnam's really barely a factor at all. Still, it seems kind to salute him for growth and improvement, even as the show remains infuriatingly erratic.
