Nomination Status: It happened once. If we forget that, it may happen again.

In His Favor: I desperately wanted to leave Matthew Morrison out of this gallery, but as I looked at all of my remaining names, both actors with slides and actors in the Other Notable Candidates field, Morrison was the only remaining actor with an Emmy nomination for his current role. That doesn't sound like much, but it's something. Plus, there were a couple episodes this season in which Will got really emotional about random things and I can see how one or two voters might think those moments were affirmations that his original nomination wasn't a weird mistake.

Working Against Him: He didn't rap all season long. No rapping, no Emmy nomination.
