Boo - The "Episodes" people all submitted weirdly. Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan are unquestionably the leads, but they're both submitted as Supporting. Matt LeBlanc, is submitted as Lead, when his best shot of a nomination probably would have been as Guest Star. I know it's all based on status -- Matt LeBlanc thinks of himself as a lead, so he submits as a lead, just like Rob Lowe is submitted for Lead for "P&R" -- but it's still all nonsense...

Except last year was the *first* time Nurse Jackie was eligible for Emmys (seasons one and two aired in a single eligibility period), so they've only overlooked her once. When they ignore her this year it will be twice.

FYI - It was less the repeated overlooking by Emmy voters as by Emmy voters, Golden Globe voters, SAG Award voters, etc. Glancing back at that entry, I really can't tell how it reads, but that's how it was intended...

Emmy and I don't seem to have any common ground in this category. The six actresses I would pick from your list (Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Aubrey Plaza, Katie Aselton, Naya Rivera, Amy Ryan) are all shoved in the pie-in-the-sky ass end of it.
You showcased the wrong non-Jane Lynch supporting cast member on Glee, in my opinion. Heather Morris is great, but Naya Rivera has been the breakout actress of the season; Brittany wasn't able to handle the increased focus in the first half of the season (mostly because the writers decided the best way to focus on her was to write for her as you'd write for an Olsen Twin on Full House) but Rivera has knocked every bit of material given to her out of the park. Of course, admittedly the stuff Rivera's been given skews more to drama than comedy, but the same goes for Chris Colfer and he'll surely be nominated again this year.

And off the top of my head, my ideal field would be Naya Rivera, Sofia Vergara, Allison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Aubrey Plaza, and either Heather Morris or Amy Ryan. Probably only Vergara will show up, and that's sad.

I see this one as an eight actress race. I'll have to give the two honorable mentions to Julie Bowen (Modern Family) and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation). I love both of their shows and characters very much, but this is a very deep category.
My nominees would be (in no particular order):
Jane Lynch (Glee) Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) Kristin Wiig (Saturday Night Live) Allison Brie (Community) Mayim Bialik (The Big Bang Theory) Busy Philipps (Cougar Town)
Wiig gets credit for doing a million things, Vergara and Lynch are incredible in their characters, Phillips and Brie both show many distinct faces of one character, and Bialik has created a one-of-a-kind female television character.
I'm not sure if I can decide between Vergara and Wiig for the win...
i personally don't believe Betty White deserves a nomination or a win for Hot in Cleavland, it's a shame that such a great comedic actress has been reduced to the "old lady who swears" roles. Same for Jane Lynch, Glee was awful this season and Sue has been redundant at best both Naya and Heather are much more worthy.

I disagree. Heather Morris can act; she's done good work in her scenes with Rivera in the second half of the season, and she's even had some decent stuff with Kevin McHale in service of killing off the Brittany/Artie relationship. But there's probably a reason why her best work as an actress (as opposed to a dispenser of funny lines, which she's great at but hasn't had material on the same level as what she had in season one) is when she's playing off of Rivera.

The fact that you guys didn't include Naya Rivera as a top candidate is ridiculous. She is the only good thing about Glee these days.
I really wish that Naya River would get some recognition for the work she did in the second half of the season. She did an amazing job with both the comedic and dramatic material she was handed and yet rarely gets recognized.
Personally I don't think Glee deserves many nominations as this season was fairly poor and shows like Modern Family, Community, and Parks and Recreation had better material, I would just like to see Naya Rivera get recognized. Not just Heather Morris (whose best work this season was with Naya)

COMPLETELY AGREE. Glee has certainly been lackluster this year with its only bright spot being Santana (Naya Rivera). Naya definitely owned season 2 and if anyone from the cast should get a nomination, it should be her.

I must say, it is highly discouraging to see the person who should certainly actually win the award sitting at the fourteenth spot, but alas, the Emmys (especially the comedy side, at least they get some of the drama stuff right).
My personal ballot would be: Alison Brie - If they just sat the Emmy voters down and forced them to watch 'A Fistful of Paintballs' maybe she'd actually get the nomination for an award she damn sure deserves to win.
Sofia Vergara - Even when nothing else clicks on Modern Family, she continues to kill it. Also, "All miiiine!"
Busy Phillips - Had about 5 great spotlight episodes this season and is probably the best part of a strong ensemble.
Aubrey Plaza - The combination of April being April with April + Andy adding a whole new layer to her character definitely makes her deserving here.
Rashida Jones - Probably the most improved player this season, just because with Schneider replaced by Rob Lowe as her love interest, she got a much larger chance to be funny rather than just an effective straight woman.
Yvonne Strahovski - Chuck vs. Phase Three. That's really all that needs to be said.
My honorable mention would have to go to Katie Aselton, who would have made it to my 6 if she had been utilized more. But scenes like her attempting to seduce Rob Heubel really show that they have an extremely talented comic weapon that they should utilize more.

You're right, this is a very crowded category. If anyone breaks through, I'd like it to be Busy Phillips. And I agree with you that Amy Ryan should have submitted as "guest"
If anyone from Glee deserves a nomination in Supporting Actress, its Naya. She made me laugh and cry. Though, I do like Dianna (especially since she had to act through the shitty writing they wrote for Quinn)
I would put Gillian Jacobs over Alison Brie for Community. Britta went from my least fave, to may favorite in season 2.
I do wish Kaitlyn Olson gets recognition. She is amazing as Sweet Dee.
If I had my way, Alison Brie would win as I have a massive crush on her.
I need to use the summer to catch up on comedies, but I hope Lynch (to help spread the love) or White (I'm non-US, therefore I don't really care for her) don't win.
