John Slattery of 'Mad Men'
John Slattery, "Mad Men"
Nomination Status: After nominations the past three years, figure Slattery's a lock for a fourth.
In His Favor: Slattery got a bit of a gift nomination last year, but Roger Sterling was much more involved in "Mad Men" Season Four and the renewed dynamic with Joan pushed the character in interesting directions. Slattery gets a little bonus credit for having acquitted himself well on the other side of the camera, directing two strong episodes. The real question is if this is the year he finally wins one of these things.
Working Against Him: In a category with only two returning nominees, there should be little standing in Slattery's way for another nod, even if "Mad Men" turned more of its fourth season focus on its actresses.
