If Dinklage isn't nominated, I'm going to go all Vancouver on the Emmy voters' asses.

dan LJA - Poor Vancouver! You go through life as a mostly peaceful city catering to Hollywood runaway productions and you blow one Stanley Cup and suddenly you become synonymous (for one night at least) with rioting!

Is Jack Huston of Boardwalk Empire submitting as guest actor? Because he was the best part of the second half of that season.

Much tougher than the Supporting Actress category. Again, I don't watch "The Good Wife" because it isn't my type of show.

That being said, my nominees (in no particular order):

    John Slattery (Mad Men)
    Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones)
    Walton Goggins (Justified)
    John Noble (Fringe)
    Michael Raymond-James (Terriers)
Michael B. Jordan (Friday Night Lights)

I have to give an honorable mention to Andre Braugher (Men of a Certain Age). I originally had 11 actors. After I cut it down, I was let with Braugher and the six above. Cutting Braugher was difficult, but this was my reasoning:

Slattery, Dinklage, Goggins, and Noble are uncuttable for me based on how incredible they are in their roles. While Jordan, Raymond-James, and Braugher are just a step below, I believe that Jordan and Raymond-James are accomplished more in their roles because of the degree of difficulty.

    Anyone agree?

GuyITC Besides the couple of typos ("let should be "left" and "are" should be "have"), I should also add that my winner would be John Noble.

Mandrake1979 Yes definitely Terriers should get some kind of respect. Great show. But I think that John Noble is just amazing to watch especially how he has played two version of the same character and made them so distinct from one another.

Thank goodness you recognized Golden Globe nominee and perennial favorite Scott Caan as another notable candidate.

It would be awesome to see love for Delroy Lindo and Michael B. Jordan in this category. Shame that it probably won't happen.

My personal favourite: Walton Goggins. Should have won for "The Shield"
No. 2 choice: Shawn Hatosy (who isn't even in the gallery!)
Dinklage, Braugher (supporting?) and all "the good wives" are also very good.

Man, why can't they just nominate everyone? As I was going through this I kept saying "yes, he should get a nomination" until I ended up with a final list of about 20.

I think the Emmy voters are going to try to push network dramas this year. Therefore I think that The Good Wife and Parenthood will get more nominations and wins than predicted.

I also don't understand how John Noble can be considered a supporting actor. If he isn't physically on screen there isn't a moment where Peter, Olivia or Astrid are not thinking about or mentioning Walter's name. His story is so central to the Fringe mythos as well. I just don't understand how he can be considered supporting.

Also, can anyone explain the rules for how people can submit for Guest Actor when they are clearly a member of the regular cast of a show?

dan Tausif - Peter and Olivia are the leads on "Fringe." And even Joshua Jackson is submitted as supporting, so really Anna Torv is the star of "Fringe" and, if you think about it, that's pretty much the case.

Anyway, as for the Guest/Supporting thing, lots of actors who seem like regular or at least recurring stars on shows are just "guest stars" for contractual reasons. That's how a John Lithgow or a Julia Stiles or a Jimmy Smits can appear in EVERY episode (or nearly every episode) of a "Dexter" season and then become Guest Star Emmy contenders...

But a lot of the Emmy categories are simply self-submitting and self-regulating and thus they become a mess...

I'd like to see Dinklage get an Emmy for GoT. But I forgot all about Denis O'Hare he was great too.

Sexton in Killing continues to show his breadth of range. We can only hope and expect that the voters take notice this year.
