Irrfan Khan of 'In Treatment'
Irrfan Khan, "In Treatment"
Nomination Status: An intriguing and deserving long-short if Emmy voters stick with "In Treatment"
In His Favor: Actors love "In Treatment," because every single episode is a potentially award-worthy monologue, usually delivered by a top-notch thespian. Emmy voters with a love for "In Treatment" will have a tough choice this summer, because either Irrfan Khan or Dane DeHaan could snag a nomination and I wouldn't bat an eyelash. For my money, DeHaan's performance was showier, Khan's more deeply felt. Voting for DeHaan honors an up-and-comer, which is always nice. Voting Khan honors a respected outsider and says, "You're one of us now."
Working Against Him: Nominating neither says, "Barely anybody watches 'In Treatment' and there were so many new shows we wanted to honor instead."
