Who will win for Best Actress in a Showtime Semi-Comedy?
Amy Poehler of 'Parks and Recreation'
Amy Poehler, "Parks and Recreation"
Nomination Status: It was awesome that Emmy voters noticed Poehler last year. If they don't nominate her again this year, that will just be cruel.
In Her Favor: Last year, Poehler scored the lone "Parks & Recreation" Emmy nomination. The show and Poehler only improved in Season 3, so it may be time for Poehler to move to Tina Fey status with an acting nomination *and* a writing nod for "The Fight." If not for the Showtime women, I'd be thinking this would be a great year for Poehler to score her first career Emmy win. Instead, she'll watch a movie star in a half-hour drama take the comedy prize she deserves.
Working Against Her: The lone nomination for "Parks and Rec" last year shows that support within the TV Academy isn't necessarily deep. Then again, maybe "P&R" finished 7th in every single category last year and an onslaught of nominations is coming?
