Emmy Nomination Preview 2011 - Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama
With three-time winner Bryan Cranston out, the field is wide open
Jon Hamm of 'Mad Men'
Jon Hamm, "Mad Men"
Nomination Status: Sure to be nominated. Is this his year to win?
In His Favor: This is about to become a refrain: It's a minor amazement that Jon Hamm hasn't won an Emmy yet. It's no exaggeration to say that Hamm and Matthew Weiner have created one of the truly iconic characters in TV history in Don Draper, but Hamm's Emmy resume includes three nominations and no wins (plus two more nods for "30 Rock). Season Four may have been Hamm's finest season to date, as he got to tear Don Draper to the ground and build him back up again. Once he gets nominated, Hamm will be able to use "The Suitcase" as his submission episode, which should put him in great position to finally win in this Cranston-free year.
Working Against Him: For a nomination? Nothing.
