With three-time winner Bryan Cranston out, the field is wide open
Peter Krause of 'Parenthood'
Peter Krause, "Parenthood"
Nomination Status: Worthy dark-horse.
In His Favor: Peter Krause's situation is a bit like Ray Romano's. He's a former nominee whose show really ought to strike a chord with Emmy voters, but in his first chance to crack the field in his current role, he was left out in the cold. Fortunately, Krause was even better in the second season of "Parenthood" than in its first. His Adam Braverman got in a supermarket fight. He got high. He dealt with his daughter having sex. He got into loud confrontations with his brother. Krause was terrific all season long and continues to balance comedy and drama exactly the way you'd expect from a veteran of "Sports Night" and "Six Feed Under."
Working Against Him: Maybe Krause finished just one or two votes out of the Top 6 last year and with Cranston and Fox gone, he'll jump right into the field? But probably not.
